Snowball Fight!!!!!

Yes it is possible to have a snowball fight in Texas in May....you just have to buy the snowballs at Bahama Buck's in Hewitt!!!! Bahama Buck's opened last week and we went to the VIP party (Compliments of our dear doctors...Mike & Cathy Burbidge). Dr Mike brought out a cooler of snowballs and my kids were hooked!!!!! So after Logan's game yesterday (and a few errands) we stopped and had a snowcone and picked up some snowballs....Rocky, Lucas, Logan, Colt, Tate and Kody had a blast!!!

The first picture is of the "boys" getting ready...the second one is of Rocky hitting his snowball with a bat!!!!! The last one is of Kody getting Lucas....I wish you could get an upclose of the face Lucas is making...

ENJOY!!!!!

Pride of Texas Music Festival-Austin

Wow...I didn't realize it has been so long since I posted!!! Things have been really busy around the Sehon house lately...I will try to post more to get everything caught up...Let's start with today!!! The Robinson 6th grade band (130+ members strong!!!) competed at the Pride of Texas Music Festival at Austin's Park & Pizza. They did such a great job...I was really proud of the way they played-considering that this time last year most of those kids didn't know the first thing about reading music or playing an instrument. They played so well that they received a 1st place trophy!!!! GO BLUE!!!!!
The first picture is of our band directors (these people are really great with the kids)...The second picture is of my Lucas in action!!!! The last picture is taken after the competition, the kids are getting ready to load their instruments back into the trailer.

Have a great week!!!!

Confirmation & 1 happy turtle

Today was a special day for the Sehon clan...Colt Randale Sehon received the sacrament of Confirmation...he has worked very hard for the last 3 years to make it to this day. He is now an "official" member of the Catholic church. I always enjoy going to Confirmation ceremonies because that means that Bishop Grepory will be there...he is an incredible speaker. I love the fact that he talks to you and not at you. I always come away from Mass feeling so much better about myself and my faith. The young people that go through Confirmation are asked to select a sponsor to stand with them during the ceremony, and Colt asked Rocky to be his sponsor.

When we finally got home around 3:00 this afternoon after Confirmation & lunch at La Fiesta, I snapped this picture of one happy little turtle. Logan has this cool new lamp (thanks Alli!!!) that has 5 flexible arms, it looks sort of like an octopus....we turned the lamp on and turned one of the arms over Optimus Prime's "house"...that little critter had his left front foot resting on the side of his house and his head was resting on his foot...He loves the new lamp too!!!! TOO CUTE!!!!

Have a great week!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Heart Day!!!! We had a great lazy day today...I didn't get out of my pj's until after 1:00pm...I can't remember the last time that happened.

Rocky and I agreed that we would only do cards this year...no gifts...he lied!!!! He made me a "family tree" plaque!!! It's too cool!!! He is so creative and I'm a lucky girl to have him!!!!

We didn't have any special plans for the day...but it turned out to be pretty special after all. My dear inlaws made the front page of the Brazos Living section of today's Waco Trib!!!! It was a special article about love that has stood the test of time!!! They are so amazing...after 42 years of marriage they are still as much in love today as they were back then. The coolest thing about it is that out of the three couples that the article was about...Mom & Dad's wedding picture was the biggest one(and in color too)...Check it out!!!!

I hope everyone had a great day full of love & happiness!!!!

These pictures are of Caitlyn(V&M's daughter) and the "Tater" (my 8 year old nephew)

Happy Birthday Buddy!!!

On January 25, 2009 Derrick (one of the many nephews) will turn 3. I make such a big deal about his b-day because Derrick is our god-son. We had his birthday party on Friday night..the kid loves the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pizza from Double Dave's so that is what he wanted for his "cake". D is such a cutie...once he warms up...he was in a mood last night when everyone came in for the party. I managed to convince him to take a couple of pictures with us. WOOHOO!!! I'm also adding a picture of Logan & Cole (Karen & Craig's baby. Logan wanted to hold Cole last night and we snapped a couple of quick pics.

Have a great weekend!!

Big Rock Park

On Saturday we went to Glen Rose for my Great Aunt Veeda's 90th birthday party. On our way out of town we stopped at Big Rock Park to let the boys burn some energy before we headed home. Big Rock Park is located on the banks of the Paluxy River and is just a great place for climbing and there are areas for fishing and swimming. We had so much fun climbing on the rocks. The boys asked if we could come back in the summer so they could go swimming. I think that we will definitely go back in the summer for more climbing and swimming.

Have a great week!!!

Here We Go!!!

I have been thinking about creating a blog for our family for awhile now. I have a couple of friends who have blogs and I think they are the coolest thing ever. It may take some time for me to get my blog to look just the way I want it to, because life happens!!!! Come along for the ride and be sure to tell me what you think about your visit to our world!!!
